Early in 2006, the world’s playground industry witnessed the birth of an exciting new company – Interactive Play, LLC. This all began from a meeting between three major industry leaders - Ray Derbecker, President of “Superior International Industries, Inc.”(SII); Dr. Eric Strickland, President of “Grounds For Play, Inc.”; and Bruce Barker, President of Interactive PlayCo, LLC.. Combining their individual strengths - the cool efficiency of SII’s manufacturing, the practical experience and research-based knowledge of Dr. Strickland, and the creativity of PlayCo’s themed play design team - they have combined more than 50 years of expertise to create a powerful design and production company uniquely capable of bringing imagination and play reality together.

During the past 20+ years, the founding companies (SII, Grounds For Play, and Interactive Playco) collectively have produced thousands of play structures, developed curriculum-based play environments world wide, and implemented several of the nation’s largest interactive structures for museums and state parks. Their in-house technical capabilities include design, engineering, steel and wood fabrication, plastic rotational molding, foam sculpting, scenic painting, curriculum development, exhibit production, installation, and a wide variety of resilient surface materials. As a result, the principals of Interactive Play, LLC have positioned the company to lead the way in dynamically themed play environments that are rich in content, thus creating the very best in “Educational Attractions’ and “Interactive Play”.
